Rina Pantano Re-Elected Chairman of the Board of the 180-Member New Jersey Credit Union League
Monmouth Junction, N.J. February 1, 2006 – Rina Pantano, President and Chief Executive Officer of
NJ Gateway Federal Credit Union, was recently re-elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the
New Jersey Credit Union League (NJCUL). At age 36, Ms. Pantano is the youngest person to serve as
Chairman and only the second female to head the NJCUL’s Board. Founded in 1934, the NJCUL is the
official trade association for credit unions in New Jersey.
Prior to her first term as Chairman, Ms. Pantano served as Vice Chairman of the Board. Very
active in the greater Middlesex County area, the Dayton resident is a Trustee and Past Treasurer of
the South Brunswick Public Library Board of Trustees. Before joining NJ Gateway in January 2002, Ms.
Pantano was President and CEO of Rutgers Federal Credit Union. She is a 1991 graduate of Rutgers
University’s Douglass College.
"I am honored to be re-elected as Chairman," Ms. Pantano said. She noted that the prior year was
one of "challenge and change," adding, "I think we’ve made great progress as a team working together
for the betterment of our credit union membership."
She added that together with the other officers – Steve Schlundt, CEO of Atlantic City Fireman’s
Federal Credit Union, Vice Chairman; Thomas O’Shea, CEO of Raritan Bay Federal Credit Union,
Treasurer; and Cindy Rein-Zima, CEO of Hamilton Horizons Federal Credit Union, Secretary – "We are a
team that understands the underlying mission and philosophy of the credit union movement: People
Helping People."
