ROTARY CLUB AND CREDIT UNION JOIN FORCES TO GIVE MORE THAN 900 DICTIONARIES TO AREA STUDENTS
South Brunswick Township, NJ October 3, 2006 -- More than 900 third grade students from
Jamesburg, Monroe Township, Cranbury, Hightstown and East Windsor will receive new Webster’s
dictionaries thanks to the generosity of the Hightstown-South Brunswick Rotary Club and the
project’s co-sponsor, NJ Gateway Federal Credit Union, Monmouth Junction. "The goal of our program,"
noted John Oliveti, Rotary Club President, "is to help these young students develop as good writers,
active readers and creative thinkers." He added that the dictionaries are a gift to each student to
use at school and at home.
"Reading is the starting point for all the economic and social opportunities this world has to
offer to an individual," said Rina Pantano, President and CEO of NJ Gateway Federal Credit Union.
"We are honored to join forces with the Hightstown-South Brunswick Rotary Club and support this very
worthwhile community project."
Irene Goldberg, Executive Director of the Monroe Township Library and Secretary of the Rotary
Club, has spearheaded the Club’s Dictionary Project. Ms. Goldberg noted that distribution through
the schools will take place from October 18th through October 25.
